Role : Localization PM

Location : Irvine, CA · Full time

The Localization Project Manager owns and manages the schedule, cost, scope, and all aspects of localization projects throughout the project life cycle in accordance with the standard policies and best practices. They are responsible for ensuring high quality and integrity of all project deliverables. They are also responsible for in-game content translation from Korean to English (approximately 20% of time).

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage localization projects from end to end, working closely with internal teams, external vendors, and all stakeholders, following the standard guidelines and best practices.
  • Develop and manage project schedule to ensure successful achievement of all project milestones.
  • Monitor project schedule, progress, and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain, adjust, and update project plans as needed.
  • Understand and manage project scope and needs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage all issues and risks affecting the project in a timely manner and work towards solutions.
  • Translate game content from Korean to English ensuring cultural and linguistic localization.
  • Proactively develop a good working relationship with all stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Provide reports on project status, forecasts, metrics, KPIs, etc., as requested.
  • Set localization standards and guidelines and provide feedback for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Control the integrity of localized software components using industry standard tools and practices.
  • Seek and provide constructive feedback  

 

Qualifications/Skills Sets

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2+ years of prior experience in localization and/or translation
  • Bilingual in Korean required
  • Able to lead project teams effectively and facilitate project team engagements
  • Able to work within tight deadlines, technical limitations, and other constraints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with localization tools such as MemoQ
  • Proficient in MS Office and able to learn new tools quickly
  • Knowledge and understanding of RPGs and game localization
  • In-depth understanding of industry standard project management processes
Salary range $65,000 - $75,000 per year
